You might have expected a more daring color for Eleanor of Aquitaine. But in truth, she is a favorite to so many present day women, that we thought it would be best to create a color for her that had the potential for nonstop, daily use. Hence, her shade is a delicate peach with magical highlights that morph from red to copper and green to blue.
"Part of Eleanor's appeal lies in her contributions to the world of fashion, art, and culture: she was fascinated with the Middle East and imported many of its customs back to France, and was one of the top patrons in history of troubadours and the ideas of chivalry and courtly love. She also represented a new type of medieval royal consort: one unafraid to compete with and challenge men, and to exhibit her own skills on the battlefield and in negotiations. But most of all, it's Eleanor's love of power that distinguishes her: she lusted after power and dominion, and liked nothing better than to have her precious duchy of Aquitaine safe under her sole control. The name "Ignis Antiquita" is beautifully representative of the sentiment behind this collection. It is Latin, and translates to English as "Ancient Fire" or "Fire of Old". Ignis is fire- as it relates to the fiery spirit and passion. Antiquita is old, ancient, time-honored, revered, primeval. The collection features women from ancient times, spanning many cultures and areas. While not everyone spoke Latin, it is undoubtedly one of the most widely spoken languages of the ancient world, which many current day languages are rooted in.
APPLICATION TIPS: These colors apply best over a light layer of primer, patted or brushed gently. The effects of the colors become muted if you use heavy primer or a strong glue/epoxy type of primer- or foiling. Best effects are achieved with a light layer of a primer such as Nyx or Two Faced eyeshadow primer. Repeated brushing or buffing will also mute the chromatic effects. You can use them without primer, but the chromatic effects will be more delicate and only visible in certain lighting.
